Mexico Sudden Flood
The natural disaster has left so far two people dead, another five missing, more than three thousand victims and a thousand homes affected.
Before the tragedy, the delegate of Development Programs of the Government of Mexico in Jalisco, Carlos Lomelí Bolaños reported that support is managed for those affected by the flood.
The official made a tour of the affected area accompanied by the mayor of San Gabriel, Bonifacio Villalvazo Larios, and received a damage report to managing the support for the population and the municipality.
He indicated that among the count of material damage reported by the mayor of San Gabriel, is the affectation to four vehicular bridges and four pedestrian bridges, “in addition, about 70 vehicles collided with each other after being dragged by the current.”
He mentioned that since yesterday he informed the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, of the situation, in order to obtain resources “in a more agile way for the relief of the affected population, through the Natural Disasters Fund (Fonden)”.
He said that various agencies of the federal government are involved in the work of support to San Gabriel, including the Secretariat of Welfare, which has three tons of food that are en route to the area.
